Men’s Divorce Support Groups

Men can find it difficult to discuss their problems with others, including friends and relatives. Belonging to a support group of other men who are going through the same emotional, financial rollercoaster can be an enormous relief.

Using the divorce support group as a safe place to share the challenges that are faced going through the divorce process allows men to actively call upon the male perspective and use the other males in the group to broaden their experience to solve divorce issues. The group discusses any topic or issues that the participants may have and through their combined experiences will share what has worked and what has not.

These groups are extremely proactive. The goal is to help each other with all divorce issues by sharing the combined awareness of the group and empowering the participants with the group experience of what has worked in the past. Members find that being able to draw on the combined experience of the group to come up with answers opens the way to an easier and calmer divorce process. Knowing you have a support system in place that meets weekly with others in the same situation is a great comfort.

Divorce group members find that they save money since they are no longer running to their divorce professionals with every issue. Lawyers and other professionals are enormously expensive and not always adequately adept at handling the issues put to them. Also, the divorce professional may be the challenge that the group member needs advice on.

Divorce groups are kept to 10 – 15 participants and are facilitated by a professional divorce coach.

Cost: $300 for 10 sessions. Sessions are ongoing.

The men’s support groups are especially formatted for the challenges men face during divorce. We divide the support groups into male and female because often man to man allows the participants to share more readily which is the aim of the groups.

Members email any topics they want covered to the coach in the week before the session so the sessions is formatted to include everyone’s issues.

These groups are held throughout Sydney, and fill up extremely quickly.
